Dear Friends and Neighbors,
Thank you so very much for the many e-letters you sent last week. We know of at least 200 letters and am sure there were many more. Please continue to write via email or regular mail. Your voice has power.
As I was considering the many possible topics for today’s letter, I thought of the incredible outpouring of opposition to the PSEG – MPRP proposals. We live in an unusual place, where we all exalt in the beauty of this productive land with its deeply wooded parks, green and gold fields, silver silos and glistening roofs on wide planked barns. We all feel a part of the multigenerational farms – if we are new here or if our families have been here for decades. Our drives and bike rides through scenic by-ways, visits to country cafes, and walks through towering forests and acres of meadow restore us. For many of us, the land is our daily work. Whatever our relationship, we are united in our desperate affront at the PSEG proposals to cross the open and conserved spaces of North Baltimore County.

This week, we encourage you to review your easement and write to the board of your easement sponsor: be it MET, MALPF, or Rural Legacy. Each is a State sponsored entity with a responsibility to serve as a steward and therefore, a protector to your easement. You can find the addresses below. Please write regardless of whether your property is directly affected by the proposals.

Please write to the PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION (PSC) which will be the entity to decide whether or how the PSEG proposals are approved when, and if, a Certificate of Public Convenience is filed. Your early involvement will make a difference. Please see below the address and a letter template you can send or use the ideas for crafting your own.

Finally, I note of thanks is due to Nino Mangione, Chris West, Gov. Hogan, and Wade Kach for taking a stand. You have their addresses from last week’s newsletter or their contact information can be found on our website in the most recent Transmission Letter 3. Our County Executive, Johnny O. can be encouraged to further engage once he receives feedback from PSEG to his requests for information. Please plan to attend the MPRP Meeting at Hereford High on August 21, 6:00 p.m. arranged by Nino Mangione.
Many thanks to all and know we are doing all we can to be prepared to defend your LPT easements and the conserved and open spaces of North Baltimore County. Together, let’s save this beautiful place we call home.
Best,
Victoria C. Collins
